Explore the shrines of Italy on a 10-day study/travel tour offered
by Oakton Community College. Tour departs on June 12, 2006.
The
tour begins at St. Peter's Basilica and the Sistine Chapel. Then,
travel to the Vatican City to attend the weekly papal audience and
receive the blessing given by Pope Benedict XVI. Stay two nights at
San Giovanni Rotondo and pray in the basilica dedicated to Padre Pio.
Enjoy the breathtaking sights of the Gargano Peninsula and view one
of the most celebrated shrines of early Christianity, the Grotto of
Michael the Archangel. Visit sites associated with the life and times
of St. Francis. An optional excursion to Florence also is available.
