REGISTRATION UNDERWAY FOR OAKTON'S KIDS' COLLEGE

Help your children prepare for the upcoming school year by enrolling them this summer in one of Oakton's popular and fun Kids' College courses. Registration is underway for classes offered during the first session, July 8 - 11, at the College's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Rd. The following classes meet Monday through Thursday from 1:20 to 4:20 p.m.

Reading for the 1st Grade uses writing, crafts, and drama to help instill a love of reading in your future first-grader. Students will also learn the sight words that should be mastered at this level. This class is appropriate for students in grades K-1.

Math Lab stimulates visual thinking about math through sequential manipulations. Students will solve problems dealing with place value, operational skills, area, and fractions. This course is appropriate for students in grades 2-3.

Glue, File, Make It Fit uncovers the secrets of making great models and dioramas for class science projects, school exhibits, and favorite hobbies. This class is appropriate for students in grades 4-6.

Additional courses offered during the first session include Math Manipulatives, Parent/Child Reading for Kindergarten, Draw and Sketch, and Space Lab, among others. A second session of courses is scheduled July 29-August 8. Tuition is $105 per class. Register by June 28 and receive an early-bird discount of 10 percent off each course.
