Susan
Kravis of Niles was named a "Super Senior" by the North Shore Senior
Center, in recognition of her work on behalf of the Oakton Community
College Educational Foundations and other worthy community causes.
The award was presented at the center's Super Seniors luncheon on
May 27.
Kravis
is a long-time member of the Foundation's Development Council, where
her enthusiasm and expertise have helped raise scholarship funds for
hundreds of Oakton students. She also devotes time and financial support
to the Literacy Program and the Niles Township Senior Center. In addition,
her participation in the League of Women Voters Executive Committee
of Cook County helps raise voter awareness and civic responsibility.
"Sue's
warmth and energy have been a spark plug behind many successful Foundation
events and activities," said Marilyn Appelson, executive director
of the Foundation. "She is an outstanding role model whose volunteer
efforts exemplify community service at its best."
