Oakton Volunteer Named North Shore 'Super Senior'

Susan Kravis of Niles was named a "Super Senior" by the North Shore Senior Center, in recognition of her work on behalf of the Oakton Community College Educational Foundations and other worthy community causes. The award was presented at the center's Super Seniors luncheon on May 27.

Kravis is a long-time member of the Foundation's Development Council, where her enthusiasm and expertise have helped raise scholarship funds for hundreds of Oakton students. She also devotes time and financial support to the Literacy Program and the Niles Township Senior Center. In addition, her participation in the League of Women Voters Executive Committee of Cook County helps raise voter awareness and civic responsibility.

"Sue's warmth and energy have been a spark plug behind many successful Foundation events and activities," said Marilyn Appelson, executive director of the Foundation. "She is an outstanding role model whose volunteer efforts exemplify community service at its best."
