There is still time to register for a selection of late-starting fall semester classes at Oakton Community College. Late-starting classes include:
Home Inspection (RES 135 051, Touch-Tone 02716) looks at the major areas of home evaluation, including exteriors, interiors, roofing, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC. This six-week class begins Oct. 13 and meets on the Des Plaines campus, Mondays and Wednesdays, from 1:30 to 6:20 p.m. Other late-start real estate courses include Residential & Single Family Appraisal, Real Estate Contracts & Conveyances, and Real Estate Appraisal Methods.

Networking Essentials (LAN 150 051, Touch-Tone 00328) introduces the concepts of electronic data communication, from hardware and software requirements, to transmission protocols and network architecture. This eight-week class begins Oct. 21 and meets at the Ray Hartstein Campus in Skokie, Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 6 p.m. to 8:20 p.m., or 8:30 p.m. to 9:50 p.m. Other late-start classes in local area networking include Windows 2000 Server.

Topics in Marketing: Grantwriting and Fundraising (MKT 290 052, Touch-Tone 02929) provides interactive learning for non-profit executives, managers, board members, and volunteers. This six-week class begins Nov. 4 and meets on the Des Plaines campus, Tuesdays from 6 p.m. to 10:15 p.m. Other late-start courses in marketing and management and supervision include Advanced Professional Selling and Employee Selection and Staffing.
