New Marketing Course Targets Needs of Nonprofits


Registration continues for Marketing for Nonprofit Organizations (MKT 132-050), a new 10-week course offered this fall at Oakton Community College.

Designed to help executives, staff, and volunteers alike effectively market their nonprofit organizations, the course includes a series of mini-workshops on such topics as special events coordination, public relations, sponsorship acquisition, crisis communication techniques, strategic planning, fund raising, and grant writing.

Marketing for Nonprofit Organizations meets from 6 to 10 p.m. Tuesdays, beginning Oct. 1, at Oakton's Des Plaines Campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. The course may be taken for three hours of college credit or as a noncredit course through the Alliance for Lifelong Learning (ALL), Oakton's continuing education program.
