Oakton Offers Copper Canyon Adventure

Explore Mexico's Copper Canyon on a study/travel tour sponsored by Oakton Community College. A nine-day tour is schedule to depart April 6, 2008.

Wind past thrilling gorges and expansive canyons as you take in the most scenic portions of 25,000 square miles of unspoiled landscape while traveling on the Chihuahua-Pacifico Railroad. Experience the culture of the Tarahumara tribe with a traditional dance, tribal games, and a footrace demonstration. Visit the town of Creel, one of the largest and most populated towns in the Copper Canyon, which sits 7,874 feet above sea level.
