Celebrate "Money Smart Week 2006" at Oakton Community College. Free
financial workshops sponsored by the Business Institute at Oakton
and Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago will be offered at both campuses
in English and Spanish.
At the Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road, "Home Ownership
- Know What You Are Borrowing Before You Buy" decodes the
mortgage process for new home buyers. Presented in English, 6 - 8
p.m., Monday, May 1; in Spanish, 6 - 8 p.m., Wednesday, May 3.
At
the Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., "Bank Basics - An
Introduction to Bank Services, Credit, and Checking Accounts"
explores how to select a financial institution. Presented in English,
1 - 3 p.m., Tuesday, May 2; in Spanish, 1 - 3 p.m., Thursday, May
4.

Smart Week is designed to teach money managing tips to consumers.
This is the fifth year the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is offering
free programs in cooperation with banks, businesses, government agencies,
schools, libraries, and community groups.
