Oakton Community College has cooked up for the 2004-05 academic year
at "New on the Menu," 6 - 8 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 10, at the Des Plaines
campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. Prospective students are invited to talk
with professors, learn about new opportunities, and register for classes.
Refreshments will be served.
New Oakton
offerings include a degree for Paraprofessional Educators (a.k.a.
teacher aides), as well as certificates in a variety of areas, from
computer information systems and networking, to facilities management
and engineering. More than 50 new courses also are being offered in
business, computers, education, engineering and industry, health,
and liberal arts.
"New
on the Menu" also features updated software and hardware demonstrations
for CAD/CAM design; CNC machining; Allen Bradley PLC; desktop publishing;
Microsoft Office; computer networking products; computer programming
languages, and Web development tools.
