Dedication ceremonies are scheduled Tuesday, April 18, for the new
Art, Science, and Technology Pavilion at Oakton Community College,
7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie. The public is invited to attend the
dedication and reception, 3:30 - 5 p.m. The event also features demonstrations,
tours, and music by the Oakton Jazz Ensemble.
"Our
new, environmentally friendly facility enables us to expand many programs
that will be vital to the workforce of the 21st century," said Margaret
B. Lee, president of Oakton.
Completed
in January, the 59,000-square-foot Art, Science, and Technology Pavilion
houses Oakton's programs in architecture and construction management,
art and graphic design, computer networking and systems, computer
technology and information systems, electronics, engineering, and
manufacturing. Designed by Ross Barney + Jankowski Architects, the
new facility positions Oakton among the region's leading providers
of high tech training.
