Plunge
into the culture, history, and ecology of Peru on a travel/study program
sponsored by Oakton Community College. The last trip for 2007 is scheduled
to depart Sept. 22; the first 2008 tour is scheduled for Jan. 20.
Begin
in Lima, "City of Kings," before moving on through Colca Valley. Ascend
nearly 10,000 feet to Condor's Cross Observation Point and view the
panorama of Colca Canyon. Visit Inca remains at Tambomachay, Kenko,
Puca-Pucara, and Sacsayhuaman. Journey to Machu Picchu and take a
guided tour through "The Lost City of the Incas." Canoe down the Madre
De Dios River and picnic at the Manu Wildlife Center. Travel to Manu
for forest trail hikes and complete your journey with a flight over
the mysterious Nazca Lines.
