Experience both the ancient and contemporary culture of Peru on a two-week tour sponsored by Oakton Community College's travel/study program. Three trips are scheduled for 2003: June 1 - 22, July 12 - 27, and Sept. 6 - 21.Tourists will travel through several cities including Lima, where they will visit the "City of Kings" and renowned gold museum; Colco, for a tour of the Blanca National Reserve and the Colca Canyon; and Cuzco, to explore the Plaza Del Regocijo, Plaza De Arma, and Santo Domingo Monastery. The adventure also includes a tour of ancient ruins at Urbamba, the sacred valley of the Incas, and "The Lost City of the Incas."
Along the way travelers will have a chance to experience some of Peru's exotic wildlife, including parrots, macaws, and 10 different monkey species, on a three-day "jungle adventure" at the Manu Wildlife Center.
