Oakton Tour Visits Portugal
Enjoy the historic beauty of Portugal on a travel/study tour offered through Oakton Community College. The next trip departs March 16, 2007.
Visit the scenic town of Cascais and take a stroll through the many specialty shops filled with handmade crafts. Travel to Sintra, which for six centuries has been the favorite summer residence of Portugal's kings. In the town of Azeitao, tour a local winery, and learn how the Portuguese make their famous hand-painted tiles. Experience Portugal's "Silver Coast," a region filled with charming villages, vineyards, and ancient castles. At the resort town of Lagos, stop at a local marzipan factory and sample this local delicacy. Explore the capital city of Lisbon, one of the world's most intriguing cities, set on seven hills overlooking the Tagus River.
