If
"quit smoking" topped your list of New Year's resolutions, enroll
in free classes at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des
Plaines.
"Freedom from Smoking" classes are designed to help smokers deal with
cravings and stress; learn about nicotine replacement theory; and
experience a positive and supportive environment in which to develop
their own plan to permanently quit smoking.
Classes
meet 12 - 1 p.m., Monday, for seven weeks starting March 3. Participants
are encouraged to attend a preliminary Q-and-A session at 12 p.m.,
Monday, Feb. 25, in Room 2107 at the Des Plaines campus.
Classes
are sponsored by Oakton Health Services and the American Lung Association.
Funding is provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health.
