Quit Smoking in Free Oakton Classes

If "quit smoking" topped your list of New Year's resolutions, enroll in free classes at Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.

"Freedom from Smoking" classes are designed to help smokers deal with cravings and stress; learn about nicotine replacement theory; and experience a positive and supportive environment in which to develop their own plan to permanently quit smoking.

Classes meet 12 - 1 p.m., Monday, for seven weeks starting March 3. Participants are encouraged to attend a preliminary Q-and-A session at 12 p.m., Monday, Feb. 25, in Room 2107 at the Des Plaines campus.

Classes are sponsored by Oakton Health Services and the American Lung Association. Funding is provided by the Illinois Department of Public Health.

For more information or to register for the class, contact Marilyn Wroblewski, health services manager, at 847-635-1885, or mwroblew@oakton.edu.
