Journey to Russia to experience the life and ancient culture of this exotic country on a travel/study tour offered by Oakton Community College. Trips in 2005 depart on May 31, July 14, and Aug. 29.

The journey begins in the capital city, Moscow, where visitors can see famous sites including Red Square and the beautiful complex of cathedrals known as The Kremlin. Travelers then board their ship, the M/V S. Kuchkin, for a trip along the banks of the mighty Volga River. Explore the cities of Uglich, Goritsy, Kizhi, and Svirstroy during this two-week excursion.

Other program highlights include visits to St. Basil, the History Museum of Russia, Lenin's tomb, Moscow State University, and the Ateneum Museum of Finnish Art. During the "people to people experience," travelers will get to meet with veterans of World War II and share views on this historic event.
