Cindi Dingman of Evanston has won the 2003-04 Oakton Community College Ray Hartstein-Brunswick Educational Excellence Scholarship. The honor was presented May 14 at Oakton's commencement ceremony.The Ray Hartstein-Brunswick Educational Excellence Scholarship is awarded annually to an Oakton graduate who plans to continue studies in business, social science, or education at a four-year institution. Dingman plans to study psychology at University of Illinois at Chicago in the fall. Criteria for the scholarship include academic success, leadership, achievements, and extracurricular activities. Dingman, who has a 3.39 GPA, will graduate in August 2003 with high honors and an Associate in Arts degree. She is currently a member of the RHC Student Leaders and works in the Student Activities office at the Ray Hartstein Campus.
Oakton Community College offers degree and certificate curricula for students preparing to earn a bachelor's degree at a four-year college or university, as well as those preparing for employment in a variety of careers. Oakton is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association, Illinois Community College Board and American Association of Community Colleges.
