Oakton
freshman Susan Domenick was named to the National Junior College
Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Softball All-American Team
for her outstanding accomplishments on the playing field.
A
Wilmette resident and graduate of New Trier High School, Domenick
was named to the Third Team. Domenick led the Raiders with a .505
batting average and 24 stolen bases, a single-season College record.
Her other season accomplishments include being named to the NJCAA
Region IV All-Region Team and the Skyway Conference First Team.
"Susan will do anything for the team," said Oakton softball coach
Glen Watson. "She played several games with a jammed wrist and thumb
and never once complained or let it affect her performance on the
field. I am proud to have her as part of our program."
The
Raiders finished the softball season with an 11-22 record and this
marks the 35th time an Oakton athlete has received All-American honors
from the NJCAA.
