Explore Spain's rich past and modern culture on a tour offered by the Oakton Community College travel/study program. Trips are scheduled Oct. 3 - 16, 2003; April 23 - May 6 and June 4 - 17, 2004.Enjoy a walking tour of Madrid to visit the Royal Palace built by Philip V, the Bourbon King; then journey to Toledo, a major center of learning during the sixth century. In Seville, view paintings by Goya, El Greco and Velazquez at the world's largest art museum, the Prado.
In Jerez, learn about the art of producing wine at a sherry bodega, followed by a special show at the famous Royal Andalusian Riding School. Travelers will have the opportunity to visit local businesses in Rute, including an olive oil producing plant and the Museo del Anis, to learn about the making of Anisette, a regional liquor. Other stops on the trip include Granada, Cordoba, Malaga, Barcelona and Montserrat.
