The
Oakton Community College board of trustees has named William Stafford
of Evanston to fill the vacancy of Michael Collins, who resigned in
September to accept a teaching position in Nevada. Stafford's appointment
to a term that expires in April 2009 was made at the Nov. 13 trustees
meeting.
Stafford,
the chief financial officer for Evanston Township High School District
202, holds a master's degree from the University of Michigan School
for Public Policy and a bachelor's degree in political science from
Wittenberg University. A certified public accountant in the state
of Illinois, Stafford is a member of the Illinois Association of School
and Business Officers Association and has served as chairman of the
National Economic Development and Capital Improvements Committee for
the Government Finance Officers Association since 2003.
Trustees
meet monthly at Oakton's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf Road. The
next scheduled meeting is at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 11.
