Oakton Hosts Fairy Tale Parody Nov. 18
Emerald City Theatre Company brings its production of The Stinky Cheese Man and Other Fairly Stupid Tales to Oakton Community College, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines, at 2 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 18.
Based on the 1992 book by Jon Scieszka, preposterous vignettes such as "Cinderumplestiltskin" and "The Really Ugly Duckling" put a twist on classic fairy tales. The show is recommended for K-7 students, and adults who enjoy a healthy dose of comic satire.
Tickets are $7; $5 for children under $12; and $4 for groups of 15 or more. The program is partially funded by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.
