Oakton Hosts Free Sounds of Summer Concert
Students and faculty at Oakton Community College join forces to perform at two free music recitals Tuesday, July 24, and Thursday, July 26. Both "Sounds of Summer" concerts, featuring faculty members Carey Polacek and Michael Adamczyk, begin at 8 p.m. at Oakton's Performing Arts Center, 1600 E. Golf Road, Des Plaines.
On July 24 the Oakton Jazz Band presents an evening of hot jazz, including Latin and swing styles. On July 26 don't miss the world premieres of Adamczyk's "The Cicada Variations" and "Sonatina for Tenor Saxophone and Piano." Members of the Oakton Guitar Ensemble and Flute Quartet will perform compositions by J.S. Bach.
