Anyone
interested in learning about travel study tours offered by Oakton
Community College is invited to a free info session, scheduled for
6:30 p.m., Sept. 12, at Oakton's Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. Golf
Road.
Representatives
will be available to answer questions about educational learning vacations
that span the globe. Trips allow travelers to discover ancient, modern,
and unexpected places escorted by college faculty. Learning vacations
are enhanced by drawing upon people from a rich pool of disciplines
at each destination visited. Alternative tours featuring more modest
accommodations and meal packages also are available.
In
addition, Frank Fonsino, retired professor of history, will preview
his April 2008 trip to southern Italy and Sicily, which features tours
of the Forum, Circus Maximus, and the Colosseum. Italian-style refreshments
will be served.
