Oakton Seeks Volunteer English Tutors

Volunteers interested in helping adults improve their English skills are invited to a training session sponsored by Volunteers in Teaching Adults (VITA) at Oakton Community College. A three-part training session is scheduled 6:30 - 10 p.m., Tuesday, June 6; Thursday, June 8; and Thursday, June 29, at the Ray Hartstein Campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., Skokie.

VITA tutors are asked to commit to two to six hours each week, and to work with teachers in the English as a Second Language (ESL) and Learn to Read to Learn (LTRTL) programs. Tutors may volunteer at a variety of locations on weekdays, evenings, and weekends.
