Oakton Baseball Player Earns All-American Honors

Oakton sophomore Jeff Wertepny was named to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II Baseball All-American Team for his outstanding accomplishments on the diamond.

A graduate of Elk Grove Village, Wertepny was named to the First Team. Wertepny led the Raiders with a .468 batting average and 44 RBI. His other season accomplishments include being named Skyway Conference Player of the Year, as well as being designated to the NJCAA Region IV All-Region First Team.

The Raiders finished with a 34-20 record, the third year in a row Oakton has compiled at least 30 wins in a season under coach Mike Pinto. This marks the 36th time an Oakton athlete has received All-American honors from the NJCAA.
