Funded by the National Science Foundation, SIT SIMs are work-related simulations in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), the projects were developed by teams of industry professionals and Oakton Community College faculty, and were reviewed by high school teachers , the simulations will provide high school students with work-based, hands-on learning opportunities. To participate, each math and science teacher will select a group of five to seven students who can demonstrate a strong interest in STEM and who are high-potential, but not necessarily high-achieving. Teachers will participate alongside students.
