How to Download Student Records
WebCT allows you to transfer your student records to your
computer, where they can be imported into Excel.
To download student records:
A. Go to Manage Course=> Manage Students
B. Select the Download button appearing near the top right of
the browser window.

C. Save the contents of the student records database in a text format
(class_Apl17.txt) that can be opened by spreadsheet programs.
D. WebCT allows you to choose the characters you would like to use
to separate records. (The default setting, Tab, is recommended.)
To open in Excel:
A. Choose Open from the File menu.
B. In the Open dialogue box, select Text Files from the Files
of Type list.
C. Select the file (class_Apl17.txt) that you want to import.
D. In the Text Import Wizard, first choose Delimited (Step1), then
select Tab as a delimiter (Step2).
 

D. Once you have opened the downloaded file in a spreadsheet program,
you can edit it as you would any other spreadsheet document.
To save edited records in Microsoft Excel for importing
into WebCT:
A. Select Save from the File menu.
B. In the Save As dialogue box, choose CSV (Comma delimited)
from the Save as type pull-down menu.
C. Excel will ask you to confirm that you wish to save using this format;
select Yes to finish saving.
Important tips:
You can successfully import changes to alphanumeric and numeric
columns only.
Changes made to WebCT Quiz, WebCT ID, Calculated, Letter and Text/Memo
columns will be ignored by WebCT.
