How to search
for jobs on
After you enter
your user name and password into CCJobNet.com, the Search Jobs page
will appear. As you move around in CCJobNet.com you can always get
back to the Search Jobs page by clicking on "Search Jobs"
in the blue tool bar.
You can search
for jobs by occupation, location, job type, or keywords. You can
search for jobs based on one or more of these search options.
The first search
option is "Occupation."
The occupations listed in the scroll down box represent broad occupational
areas. You can search by as many as five of these occupational areas
at one time. To select more than one occupational area, hold down
the 'Ctrl' or 'Command' key and click as many as five occupations.
The second search
option is "Location."
Location provides an opportunity to select by geographic areas.
You can search by as many as five geographic areas at one time.
For more than one geographic area, hold down the 'Ctrl' or 'Command'
key and click up to five choices.
The third search
option is "Job Type."
Job Type allows you to search for full-time, part-time, full-time
or part-time, seasonal part-time, seasonal full-time, internship,
or co-op jobs. You are allowed only one Job Type selection per search.
Click on your choice.
The fourth search
option is "Keywords."
Separate your Keywords with spaces. There are three different ways
you can use the Keywords search. Use the drop-down menu to select
the type of Keywords search you would like.
The three keywords
search choices are, all words, any words, and exact phrase.
All Words - An "All Word" search will only return
jobs that contain all of the words
indicated.
Any Words - An "Any Word" search will return all
jobs that contain at least one of the
words. This will return
the most results.
Exact Phrase - If you are looking for multiple words right
next to each other, like
"computer programmer",
choose the "Exact Phrase" search.
You can also
decide whether or not you would like CCJobNet.com to show you job
listings from employment agencies. If you would like to see jobs
from employment agencies, click the box next to "Show employment
agency listings?" If you do not, leave the box unchecked.
After you have
selected the criteria by which you want to search for jobs, click
on the Search button at the bottom of the page. If you want to erase
your selected search criteria, click on the Clear Search button.
You have the option
of saving your search criteria. This is handy if you are going to
search for jobs based on the same criteria over a period of time.
If you would
like to save a search, simply execute the search and click the "Save
This Search" link at the top of any of the pages that appear
as a result of your search. You will be asked to enter a name to
describe the search. Try to name it something descriptive. A descriptive
name is important. Otherwise it will be difficult to remember the
criteria you selected for any given search.
Back at the
search page, you will see your saved searches at the bottom of the
page. You can save as many searches as you like and you may delete
them at any time.
