40
People To Invite To Dinner – Two at a Time
1 - 2:30 p.m.
In his book, Lives, Dutch historian Henrik Van Loon describes
a series of imaginary dinner parties for famous people in history, usually
in groups of two. In the early years of television, Steve Allen hosted
a series devoted to the same idea. So, the concept is hardly original,
admits presenter Bill Haase, who offers his list of 40 people—artists,
scientists, politicians, philosophers, and athletes—and then creates
20 such fantasy dinners. What would you have to say as a guest at the
table? [Room A145/A152]
