Offcampus access to EBSCO databases: Nursing, CINAHL, Newspapers, Academic Search Premier, etc. Login is your library ID. Type in your Oakton Library/Student ID card 14 digit ID number that is printed on your library card.

Logins and Passwords
Use the library's online indexes to find newspaper and journal full-text articles. If you are asked for a login, ID or password, type in your Oakton Library/Student ID card 14 digit ID number that is printed on your library card.

When there is an exception to this rule, the Web site will tell you.  A reference librarian will help you to use these computer indexes. Call during library hours or use the e-mail reference service (see "Help from a Librarian" below).

Books
To find books use the Oakton Community College Library Catalog (ILLINET Online). Use your Oakton Library/Student ID card number to borrow books from the Oakton Library as well as from other ILCSO libraries in Illinois. You will be called when the books that you have requested arrive at the Des Plaines campus library for you to pick up. Your Oakton Library ID number also allows you to access "My Account" to see the list of books that you have checked out from Oakton and the other ILCSO libraries.

Full-text Articles in Magazines and Journals
Many of the library's online indexes include the full text of articles in magazines and journals. Offcampus access to the A-to-Z Title List, Title Searching and Subject Browsing also provides links to the journals that provide the full-text of their articles. A reference librarian will help you to use these lists and the library's online indexes. Call (847) 636-1644 during library hours or use the e-mail reference service (see "Help from a Librarian" below). Articles that are not full-text on the computer may be obtained in print either from the Oakton Community College Library periodicals collection or through Interlibrary Loan. Please come to the Library for these services.
