
Last Year at Oakton
Each summer Oakton, like all Illinois community colleges, submits two major annual reports to the Illinois Board of Higher Education (IBHE) and the Illinois Community College Board (ICCB). These reports, officially called the IBHE Results Report and the ICCB Accountability/Program Review Report, contain a great deal of information about the past year’s Oakton programs, services, activities and achievements that address statewide goals and expectations for higher education in Illinois.â This month’s In the Abstract presents a sampling of this information. The Alliance for Lifelong Learning awarded continuing education
units to 14,756 enrollees in 400 continuing education for health professional’s
offerings.

Oakton awarded continuing education units to 276
enrollees in programs for teacher recertification.
§
Oakton made financial aid awards to 1,466 students.
§
Oakton served 3,782 students in Alliance English as a
second language (ESL) courses and 885 additional students in Oakton’s
developmental ESL courses.
§ More than 700 students were identified who, in the past two years, met certificate or degree requirements but did not apply for a formal award.
