  • Responsible for College’s research and planning activities, as well as an eclectic and unusual portfolio of responsibilities in academic affairs.
  • Holds a doctorate in political science from the University of Illinois-Urbana, an M.B.A. from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern, and an M.A. in public law and government from Columbia University.
  • President-elect of the Council for the Study of Community Colleges; past president of the Association for Institutional Research (AIR), Illinois AIR, National Council for Community College Research and Planning; past chairperson of the National Postsecondary Education Cooperative.

Jim Holderfield

  • Responsible for planning and implementing institutional research projects, with a special focus on data analysis.
  • Holds an M.A. in history from Roosevelt University.

David Rudden

  • Responsible for planning and implementing institutional research and assessment projects. (Includes surveying students, preparing reports for regional, state, federal, and other external agencies, and providing professional and technical support to faculty, administrators, and staff on a variety of research projects).
  • Holds an M.A. in developmental psychology from Illinois State University.

  • Provides administrative assistance to the Office of Research staff and to faculty and administrators working on research projects.

Marilyn Davis
Senior Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Academic Affairs

  • Works with faculty and with state agencies to add and revise courses, curricula and catalog.
