Achieving the Dream

Entering its tenth year, Achieving the Dream leads the most comprehensive reform network for student success in higher education's history. With some 200 colleges participating throughout 34 states and the District of Columbia, Achieving the Dream helps 3.8 million community college students have a better chance of realizing greater economic opportunity and success in their lives.

Oakton's first year as an Achieving the Dream college will require the community to engage students and employees in conversations that ultimately will determine five priority areas for improving student success. The Student Success Team and many others at the College already have launched new strategies to support students, and over the next three years, Achieving the Dream will enable Oakton to tap into and benefit from a national network of colleagues also focused on student success.
