Paramedic Program

Paramedic Program

Oakton's paramedic classes (FIR 221, FIR 222, FIR 223, and  FIR 224) are offered through cooperative agreements with Presence St. Francis Hospital and Advocate Lutheran General Hospital. Program participants are selected through a competitive process that involves submission of an application and a range of assessment tests and interviews.


Advocate Lutheran General Hospital (ALGH)
Applications are now available for a March 30, 2015, start date. Download the Paramedic Program application (Word file). Application deadline(with a $35 application fee) is Friday, January 30, 2015, by 3 p.m.

Presence Saint Francis Hospital (PSFH)
The application process for PSFH is now closed. To be placed on the notification list for a January 2016 start date, contact PSFH at 847.316.6117. Applications will be available on this page in summer 2015.

Faculty return for spring 2015 semester.

January 16
Winterim classes end.

January 19
Martin Luther King holiday, College closed.

January 20
Spring 2015 semester classes begin.

January 21
Winterim faculty grading due.

January 26
Last day to submit proof of residency, business service agreements and chargebacks/joint agreements.

February 15
Last day to withdraw from 16-week courses and have course dropped from record.

February 16
Presidents Day holiday, College closed.

February 17
Last day to change to audit for 16-week courses.

March 1
Incomplete (I) grades from fall 2014 semester for which faculty have not submitted final grades will become an "F" after this date.
