Division of Social Sciences and Business Mission and Values Statement

We represent a diverse faculty and curricula that seek to engage students in critical examinations of themselves and the social, political, historic, economic, and cultural aspects of our communities and the world at large. We are committed to the academic growth of our students and seek to model the kind of intellectual curiosity in our own lives that we hope to inspire in our students. We are committed to currency in our respective fields and innovation in the classroom. We share a belief in the need to integrate the concepts and theories that make up our disciplines with our world through service learning and a variety of other co-curricular activities that we engage in with our students. We believe that the purpose of the social sciences and business curricula is to help develop citizens who can help to shape the world through both word and deed.
