Apply as a First-Time Student

You should apply as a first-time student if you’ve never attended a class at Oakton and you’d like to earn college credit toward an associate degree program, career program, or transfer program.

The steps you’ll take to apply depend on your age and your program. 

• If you’re a high school senior or recent graduate, apply as a first-time student under 21. 
• If you’re 21 or older, apply as an adult student. 
• If you’re planning to take courses at Oakton while you’re still in high school, apply for concurrent admission. 
• If you’re interested in a health career, apply to the health career program.
• If you’re only taking summer courses at Oakton, apply as a summer-only student. 
• If you’re a veteran of the U.S. Armed Forces, check our services and information for veterans.
