Next Steps

Once you have submitted your application and received your official acceptance to Oakton Community College, what’s next?

Just follow these easy steps to get started on your educational journey. 

  1. Determine if you need to take placement tests. You may be exempt from these tests, which help us put you in the correct class level. 
  2. Meet with an advisor who is specially trained to help you refine your educational goals and choose the best courses to help you reach them. 
  3. Check prerequisites. If you plan to take a class that has a prerequisite, you’ll need to submit proof that you’ve met that prerequisite. Check the College Catalog or our Course Offerings for details. 
  4. Register for class! You may register online or in person at either campus.
