The Advising and Counseling Centers have a variety of resources available to students to assist them in
the process of transferring from Oakton Community College to four-year colleges and universities.
These materials include transfer guides that list general education requirements, computer-based resources (on
campus), college catalogs, videos, and reference books. Check out our Links page
for more resources.
Oakton Community College also participates in articulation agreements, such as:
2 + 2;
and individual course articulation agreements that specify how Oakton's courses will transfer to other institutions.
Students who utilize this transfer information throughout their time at Oakton can simplify their lives by
following transfer recommendations set by the four-year college and university of their choice. The
Illinois Board of Higher Education website provides direct links to both private and public Illinois Universities.
Additionally, College Representatives from schools in Illinois and neighboring states regularly schedule campus
visits to provide students detailed information about these respective schools. The schedule of these visits
is available in the Advising and Counseling Centers and at the online Events Calendar.
