Women’s Basketball

Women’s Basketball

Hoop dreams and education goals come true in Oakton's Women's Basketball program with a long history of producing players who continue their athletic careers at four-year colleges and universities.

Coach Rauschenberg and Assistant Coach Waller teach fundamentals first, creating a skilled team that comes together to challenge opponents from start to finish for the win.

Each winter, the Division II, Women's Basketball Team plays top programs in the Chicagoland area competing in Region IV of the NJCAA and the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference. Official practice begins early October at Oakton's Des Plaines campus, and competition runs November through February.

Play to compete. Learn to succeed. Earn a degree. Chase your dream.

The Oakton women’s basketball team couldn’t overcome a 29-point halftime deficit falling to Black Hawk-East College 76-39 in a first round regional playoff tilt on Thursday night.
Sophomore forward Rebecca Bartnicki earned a spot on the NJCAA Region IV Division II District D All-Region Second Team. Bartnicki ranks second in NJCAA Division II in rebounds and seventh in blocks.

Sophomore forward Rebecca Bartnicki was chosen to the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference Women’s Basketball First Team while teammates freshman captain Mallory Gonzalez and freshman forward Atorena Michael captured spots on the conference’s second team.
Despite a double-double (12 points, 14 rebounds) by freshman captain Mallory Gonzalez the Oakton’s women’s team came up six points short, falling 43-37 on the road to Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference foe College of Lake County.
