Oakton’s women’s basketball team, an annual contender for the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference crown, has a long history of advancing to the NJCAA Region IV Final Four and producing players who continue their athletic careers at four-year colleges and universities. In 2012, the program welcomed new coach Kristi Melone, an Oakton alumna who competed for the team herself from 2006 to 2008.
