"Into the Beautiful North" by Luis Alberto Urrea is a quest novel in the grand tradition. It is set in the present day, in the highly charged world of the U.S.-Mexico border region. Hosted by Oakton, Evanston Public Library invites you to discuss and explore the novel's timely themes. This event is part of Coming Together in Skokie and Niles Township.

As part of the community-wide 'Coming Together in Skokie and Niles Township' Celebration, which this year focuses on the Latino/Hispanic culture, Oakton's student clubs and the College community present a festival of music, dance, food, and fun at the Skokie campus. Entrance fee includes food and entertainment. Children under 5 are free. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. Call 847.376.7632 or 847.635.1474 for information. 03/03/2016 - Evening of Latino and Hispanic Culture
Join Oakton's students and community members for a festival of music, dance, food and and fun. $3.00 entrance fee includes food and entertainment. Children 5 and under are free. Doors open at 6:15 pm. Sponsored by the Skokie Events Team, Library, Diversity Council, Hispanic Club and Andale.
