Keys to Success

Just as you need keys to open your door or drive your car, you also need keys to unlock your resources and get the most out of your college experience. Join Advising Services for its 2012 Keys to Success Workshops. These free interactive sessions can help you tap into your inner brainiac and provide the information you need to transfer to a four-year institution.

How to be a Successful in College
Just starting out in college? Still learning the ropes? Whether you’re new to Oakton or have a few semesters under your belt, this workshop will share secrets to success that will improve your performance as a student – here and beyond.
Des Plaines campus

Understanding the Application Process/Getting the Most Out of a College Fair
Looking to transfer to a four-year college or university? Uncertain of where to start and feeling overwhelmed? This workshop will review the application process and provide an overview of the steps you need to take in order to successfully transition to the next level.
Des Plaines and Skokie campuses

Successfully Complete an Associate of Arts or Science Degree
What steps do you need to take to complete your degree? Find out at this workshop. We’ll provide an overview of degree requirements and demonstrate how you can use online resources to plan your academic schedule to best fulfill your degree requirements.

Join us for a free College Transfer Fair on Wednesday, February 15, from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and 4 – 6 p.m. in the TenHoeve Center, located at the Des Plaines Campus. Check the College Transfer Fair page for details, including a full list of participating colleges.

Last day to withdraw with a "W" (no withdrawals after mid-term) Students will receive a grade in all courses in which they are enrolled after June 27.

July 4
Independence Day holiday. College closed.

July 18
Incomplete (I) grades from spring 2013 semester for which required work was not submitted will become an "F" after this date. .

July 25
Classes end.

July 29
Grades due.

July 29
Late interim classes begin.

August 16
Late interim classes end.

August 19
Late interim grades due.
