Oakton Pitchers Commit to Lynn University

Two Oakton pitchers, Troy Mannebach and Derek De Young, will take their talents to NCAA Division II powerhouse Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida next season.

For the 2012 season, Mannebach (Appleton West High School, Wisconsin) boasts a 3-0 record with 31 strikeouts in 23 2/3 innings for the Raiders, while De Young (Plainfield) sports a 2-2 record and 32 strikeouts in 23 1/3 innings.

“Both are well-deserving,” says Oakton head coach Bill Fratto. “They have been quality starters for us for two years and I’m glad Troy and Derrick have committed to going to a strong university. I think they will do well there.”

Lynn University won the 2009 NCAA Division II National Baseball Championship.
