Cannabis Responsible Vendor Training

Reserve your spot in our two-hour Cannabis Responsible Vendor Training.
All owners, managers, employees, and agents involved in the handling or sale of cannabis or cannabis-infused product employed by an adult use dispensing organization or medical cannabis dispensing organization, as defined in Section 10 of the Compassionate Use of Medical Cannabis Program Act, shall attend and successfully complete Responsible Vendor Program within 90 days of September 1, 2019, or 90 days of employment (Section 15-40 (i) of the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act).
The contents of the training can be found in the (410 ILCS 705/) Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act.
This course introduces the skills needed to successfully complete the two-hour responsible vendor training as defined in the Compassion Use of Medical Cannabis Program Act. Content is focused on health and safety concerns, sales to minors, Illinois laws and rules, security and surveillance, packing and labeling, safe storage, waste and disposal, and inventory tracking. Training includes two hours of instruction with a one-hour exam given at the end.
In addition to the two-hour Cannabis Responsible Vendor Training, dispensing organizations must ensure that agents receive a minimum of eight hours of training annually as defined in Section 15-65 (a)(5) of the Cannabis Regulation and Tax Act. Oakton Community College Continuing Education for Health Professionals (CEHP) will be offering an additional six hours of training that cover the point of sales system, inventory and handling, use of cannabis and cannabis infused products, and legal requirements for maintaining status as an agent in the near future.
