Staffing 

Employees should consult their direct supervisor to determine work schedules.

Employee steps for reporting COVID-19 Illness

If you are home, do not come to campus.

If on campus, ensure you are wearing a mask and leave immediately after informing your direct supervisor.

Seek guidance from your healthcare provider

Employees must stay home for a minimum of 10 days following the onset of symptoms, be fever-free for 24 hours without medication or receive clearance to return from a doctor/healthcare professional. 

Supervisors
Direct employee to notify Human Resources of their potential COVID-19 illness immediately at HR@oakton.edu.

Notify your administrator. The supervisor or administrator must follow-up with Human Resources directly.

Communication of Exposure and Contact Tracing Policy
Human Resources will notify individuals identified as direct contacts of a potential exposure and advise of next steps.

Health Privacy Policy
All COVID-19 information collected will be stored by Human Resources. All COVID-19 information will be retained and transmitted in accordance with applicable privacy and confidentiality laws.

Employee Leave Policies for COVID-19

Caring for yourself
Employees with COVID-19 should use sick to cover time away from work. Employees should contact Human Resources at HR@oakton.edu to understand your leave options.

Caring for relatives
Sick leave can also be used to care for relatives ill with COVID-19 per FMLA and sick leave policy. Contact Human Resources at HR@oakton.edu to understand your leave options.

Caring for a child whose school or place of care is closed for reasons related to COVID-19
Employees may qualify for expanded family leave if the employee is caring for a child whose school or place of care is closed (or childcare provider is unavailable) for reasons related to COVID-19. Contact Human Resources at HR@oakton.edu to understand your leave options.

If an employee wishes to seek an alternate on-campus or remote work schedule, please consult with your immediate supervisor.

Accommodations for Vulnerable Persons

Certain employees are considered at high risk for severe illness due to COVID-19, as defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (“CDC”), or employees who live with such individuals may desire accommodations. Please consult the CDC guidelines to determine if you fall into this category. If you wish to pursue accommodations, contact Human Resources at HR@oakton.edu for additional information.

Quarantine Policy

Employees must quarantine for 14 days if they have been in close contact with someone diagnosed (clinically or test-confirmed) with COVID-19. Contact Human Resources to understand leave options.

Travel

College-related travel is currently restricted. Once Illinois reaches the approved phase for travel, nonessential travel should be minimized. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines regarding isolation after travel will be implemented.
