Oakton’s Early Childhood Center Invites Community to Open House, April 6

Skokie, Ill. (March 27, 2024) – Attention all families searching for top-tier care for their young ones! You are invited to the Oakton College Early Childhood Center open house at Oakton’s Skokie campus on Saturday, April 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Discover Oakton’s licensed and accredited preschool programs tailored for children aged three to five. Additionally, take advantage of an exclusive open-house discount on registration fees!

Open house attendees will learn about the Center's innovative curriculum, meet dedicated early childhood educators and tour the state-of-the-art facilities. The Center has access to various College resources, including a nursing office, art studio, and police station, in addition to spacious classrooms equipped with observation booths.

Emphasizing family involvement, the Center has earned the Gold Circle of Quality every year since 2017. This prestigious recognition, awarded by ExceleRate Illinois, reflects the Center's ongoing dedication to the families and children it serves. Oakton’s experienced and degreed teachers are dedicated to providing personalized experiences for each child in collaboration with parents and guardians.

Offering two distinct programs, the Hawks Classroom operates from Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., with flexible scheduling options, while the Owls Classroom provides a full-day program during the fall and spring semesters and a half-day option during the summer.

The program collaborates with Oakton’s Early Childhood Education students and invites specialists such as Oakton’s sustainability expert and naturalist to enhance the curriculum. Play serves as the primary vehicle for learning, with a curriculum designed to foster growth across various domains, including math, science, music and art. The Center’s access to outdoor areas facilitates holistic development.

Licensed by the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), the Early Childhood Center ensures high-quality care and education for all children and families.
