Institutional Review Board

The Institutional Review Board oversees, reviews, and monitors research involving human subjects at Oakton.

The IRB assesses the risks and benefits of proposed studies and ensures that studies are ethically sound, have adequate protection, and obtain informed and uncoerced consent. All research involving human participants at Oakton must receive IRB approval by U.S. Department of Health and Human Services regulations.
