Oakton partners to host Oct. 16 health care hiring event
(Oct. 11, 2017) Oakton Community College is joining with U.S. Representatives Brad Schneider and Jan Schakowsky, National Able Network and the Illinois Department of Employment Security (IDES) for a health care hiring event 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday Oct, 16, at the college’s Skokie campus, 7701 N. Lincoln Ave., in Room P103-104. The free event is open to the public and early entry for veterans begins at 9:30 a.m.
“We are once again pleased to collaborate with our U.S. representatives, National Able Network and IDES on this hiring event,” said Oakton Associate Vice President for Continuing Education, Training and Workforce Development Colette Hands. “The event is consistent with Oakton’s commitment to workforce and economic development in our communities by connecting job seekers to opportunities that advance or enhance their career.”
The hiring event will feature more than 30 employers with career openings in positions at health care providers, including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted-living, hospice providers, pharmacies and pharmaceutical companies.
“At a time when American families are in serious need of good jobs that pay living wages and offer the right benefits, I’m proud to help put on this important fair,” Schakowsky says. “By matching job seekers to businesses, we can improve families’ well-being, help our economy grow and strengthen our community. I hope that constituents will take advantage of this chance to find out more about job openings in health care field.”
