If you are new to Oakton, you may need to take a placement test. Placement testing helps you and your advisors select the right courses to ensure your academic success. The results of these tests are important. Math and English tests determine what courses you will place into or whether you will need to start in developmental courses. These are not pass-or-fail tests; they simply let you know where to start.
If you're unsure about taking a placement test, view your admission checklist in the new student portal. You can also contact the Enrollment Center or view the Placement at Oakton page.
Placement tests are can be taken on-campus or remotely. It's highly recommended that you familiarize yourself with each test before testing.
Skokie: Appointments are required at the Skokie campus.
Des Plaines: Appointments are not needed.
