What is it?
The Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) program is a partnership between specific Community Colleges and the University of Illinois at Chicago that offers a guaranteed transfer pathway to several UIC programs. TAG offers certainty to parents and students who want to transfer to UIC rather than attend as first year students.

Participation Details
In order to qualify for the UIC Transfer Admission Guarantee, a student must:
- Apply for TAG participation no later than the first two weeks of your final year at Oakton
- Transfer to UIC within three years of signing the TAG Pathways Participation Form
- Meet with your Oakton academic advisor to create a Transferology account and verify eligibility
- Earn a minimum transfer GPA of 3.00 overall and in required major preparation courses
- Submit a transfer application to UIC in either February or September depending upon the semester you plan to enter UIC
- Successfully complete the community college equivalent of required courses listed on the program’s section of this website
- Please note, each TAG cohort is scheduled for either a spring or fall enrollment at UIC, but understand that some programs are only available in the fall term. You must submit a UIC transfer application for the fall term by Feb. 1 (Sept. 1 for spring) in the year you plan to transfer. All required application materials and supporting credentials must be received by UIC no later than Feb. 15 (Sept. 15 for spring).
How to Apply
- Meet with your Oakton academic advisor within the first two weeks of your final year at Oakton to complete the TAG Participation Form.
- After joining, there will be additional paperwork to file, including the transfer admissions application.
