Guaranteed Admission Agreement

What is it?

This agreement offers Oakton College students meeting all requirements outlined in the agreement Guaranteed Admission to Marquette University to complete their bachelor’s degree. This agreement does not impact students’ eligibility to apply for financial aid and/or scholarships.


Participation Details

Who are the best candidates for the Guaranteed Admission Agreement?

Students must have received a high school diploma or equivalent (GED), complete a minimum of 24 transferable credit hours at the time of transfer, and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale as a full-time student at Oakton College, with no grades earned of less than C.

How does it work?

Students are required to enroll in their Marquette University degree program within three years of initial enrollment in the Guaranteed Admission program with a maximum of 60 credits (or half of the Marquette degree) that will be applied to their baccalaureate degree. Program requirements are subject to change. Courses accepted for transfer credit must follow Marquette University’s Transfer Course/Credit Policy as stated in the undergraduate bulletin.

The degree programs in the College of Business Administration, Opus College of Engineering, and College of Health Sciences have a higher cumulative GPA requirement of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Additionally, students must adhere to the listed requirements below for admission to the respective undergraduate degree program.

  • College of Business Administration – At minimum, three of the five courses must be completed; all completed courses must earn a grade of B or better: ACC 153, ACC 154, MAT 180 (or MAT 250), ECO 201, ECO 202
  • Opus College of Engineering – A grade of B or better in MAT 250. A grade of B or better in CHM 121 and/or PHY 221 (student can take both CHM 121 and PHY 221, or just CHM 121 or just PHY 221).
  • College of Health Sciences – A grade of B or better in BIO 121, BIO 122, CHM 121, and CHM 122.

Participants must be in good academic and disciplinary standing at the time of transfer. Students with criminal or disciplinary histories will be evaluated by Marquette University’s Dean of Students prior to admission. As a result, Guaranteed Admission cannot be granted through this agreement.

  • Verify your major is eligible for Guaranteed Admission using this agreement by talking with your Advisor
  • Complete the online interest form linked above.
  • Work closely with Marquette University’s Transfer Advisor for course selection each semester prior to transferring to MU to ensure the most efficient transfer pathway.
