North Central College Guaranteed Admission Agreement

What is it?

The goal of the Guaranteed Admission Agreement is to create a seamless and successful transition for transfer students intending to complete their Bachelor’s degree at North Central College. The Guaranteed Admission Agreement allows students the opportunity to be simultaneously admitted to both North Central College and Oakton College.

Participation Details

  • Complete an AA or AS degree prior to enrolling at North Central College.
  • Maintain a minimum cumulative transferable GPA of 2.5.
  • A maximum of 64 transferable credit hours will be accepted by North Central College from a community college. Students with more than 64 hours can still fulfill institutional requirements, but will not gain any additional credit hours beyond 64.
  • Guaranteed admission students are subject to the same admission and degree requirements, as well as the same academic policies governing all other North Central College and Oakton College students.
  • Students who achieve a transferable GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, and have participated in the Honors Program at Oakton, will have Guaranteed Admission to the College Scholars Honors Program at North Central College. Additional application materials are required to be admitted into the Honors Program.

How to Apply

Students indicate their intention to participate in the program by filling out the participation form (below) at the time of their application to North Central College. International students must also complete this form to formally apply for the program even if a conditional letter of acceptance to North Central College was issued at the point of application to Oakton College. This form should be submitted at least one year in advance from the student’s first semester at North Central College.

  1. Meet with your academic advisor at Oakton College to verify eligibility to apply
  2. Complete the application for admission to North Central College. Submit official transcripts from all colleges or universities in addition to other documents listed on the North Central College undergraduate application no later than one year before you intend to transfer to North Central College
  3. Submit this Participation Form
