Western Governors Transfer Agreement

What is it?

The Western Governor's Transfer Agreement promises an articulated transfer into WGU to Oakton students who have completed an Associates Degree. The agreement provides Transfer Pathways to guide you through your major of choice. Students will also receive a discount on tuition and scholarship opportunities.

Benefits

  • Transfer pathways are clear and courses are prescribed and articulated for transfer.
  • Participants will receive a 5% tuition discount for up to four academic terms.
  • Participants are eligible to apply for scholarships offered through WGU Community College Partner Scholarship Fund. Scholarships are valued at up to $2500.

Participation Details

In order to qualify for the Western Governor's Transfer Agreement, a student must:

  • Complete an Associate's Degree at Oakton College.
  • Apply to WGU through its enrollment process and meet all applicable requirements and deadlines.

How to Apply

Students who wish to apply will need to complete the Application for Undergraduate Admission. To ensure consideration for Western Governor's Transfer Agreement:

  • Request a formal credit evaluation prior to beginning the first class at WGU.
  • Provide an official transcript to WGU from Oakton. Official transcripts should be received no later than the 5th of the month prior to your intended start date. WGU offers a free transcript service available to all transfer students.

Once admitted, the student will be contacted by the Undergraduate Admissions Office to begin their  Bachelor's Degree program at Western Governor's University!
